Backpacking Michigan with Rue McKenrick

Rue takes listeners along his backpacking adventures in Michigan as he works on the route for the American Perimeter Trail.  The American Perimeter Trail  is a 12,000 mile loop that circumnavigates the continental U.S. It uses existing trails such as the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), the Appalachian Trail (AT) or parts of the North Country Trail.

Rue shares some tips for hiking in the Great Lakes state, essential gear to have, navigation resources, and some of his favorite parts of his Michigan hike.
